Promoting Education and Literacy

The Andover Rotary Club believes in the power of education and literacy.    As many as 20 volunteers dedicate their time to monthly reading at West Elementary School, inspiring young minds and fostering a love for learning. Through storytelling and mentorship, we aim to empower the next generation to reach their full potential. By engaging with students in the
Rotary Reader program, our members help to build foundational skills that are critical for academic success and lifelong learning.

Supporting A Better Chance (ABC) of Andover

The Andover Rotary Club proudly supports the ABC program, A Better Chance of Andover. This program focuses on providing educational opportunities to academically talented students from underrepresented backgrounds. Through contributions and support, the Andover Rotary Club helps these students realize their potential and pursue their dreams. By breaking down barriers to education, the club plays a vital role in creating a more equitable and inclusive  high school community in Andover.
Higher Education Scholarships

The Rotary Club provides scholarships for up to three Andover youth to pursue higher education. Recipients can pursue careers in fields such as medicine, engineering, education, business, and public service. Scholarships cover essential expenses such as textbooks, lab fees, and educational materials. This financial support not only reduces stress but also allows students to focus more on their studies and extracurricular activities, thereby enhancing their academic performance and career readiness and encouraging students to strive for excellence and reach their full potential.

Nature, History and Culture

The Rotary Club of Andover supports the Andover Center for History and Culture's nature and Indigenous history project.  The Center's new curriculum includes research at the Retelle Reservation in conjunction with the Town of Andover and Andover Village Improvement Society -AVIS. As the program evolves the curriculum approach is to provide multiple entry points into the Native American topic based on age, interest level, and desire to learn.

At the 4th-grade elementary school level the Center will be presenting Native American history and undertaking an archaeology floor activity at all five of the town's elementary schools.
