The Four Way Test
(of the things we think, say or do):

Is it the Truth?

• Is it Fair to all
   Concerned?

• Will it Build
   Goodwill and
   Better
   Friendships?

• Will it be
   Beneficial to all
   Concerned

Call to Order - Song

After the Pledge of Allegiance led by President Bill Buck, songmeistress Marie Stultz led us in a rousing version of “When the Saints (Sox) Go Marching In” (thanks, Marie – way to get the blood pumping!).

Visiting Rotarians and Guests

Our guests today included Visiting Rotarians Frank and Liliana Rosich, all the way from San Jose, Costa Rica, John Jamison from nearby Haverhill, and Richard Harrington from nearby Lawrence, as well as visitors Peter Beaven and Paul Romano.

Announcements and Upcoming Events

President Bill announced that the Andover Chamber will be honoring retiring Andover Schools Superintendent Claudia Bach at a breakfast on Thursday, June 3rd – President Bill has reserved a table for Rotary, and a sign-up sheet was sent around.

Also on June 3rd, in the evening, the Boy Scouts of America Yankee Clipper Council will be honoring our own DeeDee O’Brien, along with Al DeLuca, at the Wyndham Andover; another sign-up sheet circulated.

President Bill also reminded Club members in attendance about the Citizens Who Care / Educator of the Year Fundraiser, which will be held on Thursday evening, June 10th, at the Wyndham Andover. Members were encouraged to support the event by attending, taking out an ad in the program book, or donating an item for the silent auction.

Event Chairperson Ray Cannon announced that West Elementary School teacher Virginia “Ginny” Rossini has been elected Educator of the Year by the panel of judges. Ray talked about her nomination and qualifications, and thanked the judges for their work.

Raffle Drawing

Joan Johnson oversaw the drawing of two raffle tickets, the winners being Rick Stern and Kay Barr. Although she didn’t win the growing pot, Kay did draw the high card, a 6, to Rick’s 4, and thereby claimed the $10 prize.

Sergeant at Arms

Peter Caruso contributed a Happy Buck to the kitty, in celebration of his son, Noah’s, imminent wedding (on May 15th), the reception for which will be held at the Lanam Club.

Joan Johnson paid a Happy Buck and announced that she’s having fun with the Citizens Who Care interviews.

Marie Stultz is happy to be overseeing 15 singers tomorrow – ‘nuf sed.

Kay Barr had a rough week, but was happy to round it out among her Rotary friends.

Al Getler announced that the LeaderCast was a great success, and thanked those members who participated, many of whom nodded in assent.

Mark Spencer was also happy that the CWC interviews are going well.

Jack McSweeney shared the good news that his daughter is graduating from Quinnipiac.

Len Wilson was happy to be back, and is looking rested and relaxed after his winter sojourn in Sarasota.

Bob Lavoie was happy that his daughter is graduating from UNH next week.

Dave Sollars was thrilled that Marie Stultz has created job security.

President Bill Buck was just happy to be here.

Working Meeting

President Bill then announced to the Club that the remainder of the meeting would be devoted to brainstorming about the upcoming Citizens Who Care / Educator of the Year fundraiser. Members were asked to come up with potential major sponsors, candidates for solicitation for ads in the program book, and silent auction items. As President Bill moved about the room, the tables were abuzz with conversation, collaboration and otherwise positive activity.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:30.
